The signature “A Discovery Company” is responsible for many of my personal favorite network and show concepts that, (in my opinion) are just more relevant to today’s viewership.
Some reading this may have never heard of Planet Green, but they are someone to watch. (pun intended) This article came in this morning from the THR ( http://tinyurl.com/yjlv722 )

Discovery Communications’ Planet Green will launch three-hour primetime block Verge on March 29 while transitioning to a 24-hour daily schedule. Verge will feature “Future Food,” following Moto Restaurant’s Homaro Cantu and Ben Roche as they try discover the dishes of tomorrow; off-network acquisition “30 Days;” signature series “Living with Ed,” starring Ed Begeley Jr.; “Conviction Kitchen,” featuring chef Marc Thuet guiding 24 ex-cons into launching a high-end restaurant; “Operation Wild,” which follows the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission as they attempt to track down poachers; and “Blood, Sweat and Takeways,” in which six young fast food junkies spend a month finding out the truth about how their favorite foods are produced. “Verge is encompassing the broadening of Planet Green, which is changing from informational, DYI programming to great storytelling and great characters,” Planet Green president and general manager Laura Michalchyshyn said.
